Feeling Imagined Spaces: Emotional Geographies in the EU-Turkey Relations

Geographies and borders have become often-debated concepts, especially in the view of increasing impact globalization regional integration processes. In such cases, are attributed certain imagined meanings more so, they associated with feelings. Considering dynamics, EU-Turkey relations can be considered a good example how borders, emotions spatial dimensions interact. However, not much attention has been given to emotional facets relations. By utilizing concept “hot places”, this study tries fill void. We separate into three phases: Cold War, post-Cold peak migration politics, driven by Syrian Civil War. argue that there is specific hot place for each these periods: Kreuzberg, Berlin period between 1959 1989, Cyprus War period, conflict last period.
